Vegas with Celine

My friends and I had a girls trip to Las Vegas a few weeks ago to go to the Celine Dion concert. It was amazing!! Her voice is unbelievable and and the whole show was just so great. Me, Annie, Dannielle, Priscila, Lindsay, and Brooke all went down together just for the weekend and had so much fun. We basically shopped til we dropped and ate more than we should have! But it was well worth it. Thanks girls for such a fun trip!

We stayed at my mom's in St. George the first night

We were able to get some good shopping in our first day in Vegas

We had a great dinner at PF Changs

Eating at the Cheesecake Factory before the concert

Nice legs Celine! The photographer wasn't that great seeing that he cut off her head!

ICE STORM

So while everyone was in Utah enjoying some fun snow this past weekend, Nate and I were in Nebraska experiencing our first ice storm! Many of you probably have not heard of an ice storm before, but it was pretty cool. I still don't really understand how it works or why it happens, but I guess something with the air pressure and temperature. All I know is instead of rain turning into snow when it gets really cold (like normal places) it remains water until it makes contact with something on the ground and instantly freezes. We woke up at my dad's house Saturday morning to everything covered in ice. The trees, the grass, cars, roads, and everything else outside. We were worried that we were going to lose power and water but luckily we didn't. I guess the ice covers the power lines and weighs them down causing power outages. We had to use the car in the garage because the cars that were outside were completely frozen shut! We were fascinated with it! Nate and Mitch tried to de-ice the car by pulling pieces of ice off but it was too frozen. I tried to take some pictures but it was kind of difficult to get the full effect. I just thought I'd share this unique piece of information about nature!

This is a pine tree up close. Every single little needle was covered with ice. you could pull like a tube off each needle!

This is the grass up close. The ground crunched when you walked on it.

A tree branch up close.

The whole tree. Look close and you can see how the ice just covers each little part of the tree.

Good thing the cat was in the garage that night!!!
